IBM Canada opens new Client Innovation Centre in downtown Montréal
Today, IBM Canada officially opened its new Client Innovation Centre (CIC) in downtown Montréal.
The Montréal CIC, whose launch was announced back in November 2016, is now the second IBM delivery centre in Canada and should create 500 new jobs in the next four years to meet its clients’ growing and evolving technology and business needs.
The Centre expects nearly half of its new employees to be recent graduates from local educational institutions and young professionals who will undergo intensive training and mentoring programs to further develop their skills in various fields of expertise.
Due to its strategic location, the Montréal CIC will be able to draw from a large local, bilingual pool of workers specialized in IT and with significant international experience. Moreover, its central positon in North America will certainly help foster and manage relationships that require frequent and direct interaction in North American time zones. Greater Montréal’s proximity, extensive travel options and full understanding of Canadian and U.S. regulatory and cultural requirements are factors that IBM clients also appreciate.
The Montréal CIC will feature industry-focused services such as cloud-based, corporate integrated software packages – including SAP, Oracle, Microsoft, and Workday – plus Java and .Net development and testing. Specialized industry software including analytics, data management, enterprise content management, order management, and even solutions will also be developed.
